The Success of the Law-Abiding
The Home Secretary has announced that British prisons are completely full and that prisoners are now going to be housed in police cells as well.
Part of the problem stems from the 11,000 foreign prisoners - and by foreign the Home Secretary means people who are not EU citizens – that are occupying our prisons.
Against that is the fact there are only 1,000 British citizens held in prisons overseas, despite the fact there are millions and millions of British subjects living overseas. One might conclude that the British are relatively law-abiding and that this has something to do with their success.
