Truth-Telling at the BBC
When I was a girl, visiting my grandmother in Czechoslovakia, we used to huddle in the dusk around the radio (no lights, neighbours might report you for using electricity) and with the volume turned low as could be, listen to the news from the BBC.
We could depend on those faint British voices to give us the facts and tell us the truth about tyranny.
That day is gone.
Instapundit asks, "REMEMBER WHEN JOURNALISTS SPECIALIZED IN TELLING US THINGS instead of keeping secrets? 'BBC mounts court fight to keep critical report secret.'"
According to the Telegraph, "The BBC has spent thousands of pounds of licence payers' money trying to block the release of a report which is believed to be highly critical of its Middle East coverage."
We do believe the day that the BBC gives us the facts and tells us the truth about tyranny will come again.
