Getting the Facts Right: Climate Change
EUreferendum has a fascinating account of just how off base the "climate change caused by mankind" hysteria is. One of the ideas that comes through so clearly in the Ingenious Timeline is that theories have to be tested by experiment and logic. We laugh at the notions of our ancestors, but we are caught up by a different sort of superstition – millions believe what politicians and scientists tell them without verifying their information.
This matters because if the science of global change is wrong, as it evidently appears to be, we are going to be throwing hundreds of billions of dollars at a problem that doesn't exist, rather than the problems that do – nutrition, water, sanitation and education.
