Dinner Talk Corrected - Not (updated)

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow (see Dinner Talk below) now says that her execrable Spanish led to confusion. She did not intend to knock Americans. She feels very lucky to be American, and calls herself a New Yorker.

Update: Alas, Ms Paltrow has said all the same things to British and American magazines before, as Michelle Malkin's funny video proves here > (scroll down).

Another American who moved to Britain, TS Eliot became a British citizen in 1927. He wrote “Little Gidding” during World War II, when he was serving as an air raid warden. These lines speak to us, and Gwyneth might come to understand them too:

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
