Sir Patrick Moore's farsightedness

We’ve mentioned him before, the wonderful Sir Patrick Moore, author of 60 books, who at 83 has just presented the 650th episode of his astronomy programme The Sky at Night, 50 years after the show first aired.

Unfortunately BBC One recently relegated the programme to the deadly hour of 2 AM, which understandably has made Sir Patrick and his viewers wroth.

Badly crippled with arthritis, Sir Patrick is still studying the heavens. He stoically ignores his pain, and is working rapidly on an atlas of the universe.

Politically Sir Patrick’s views are as far-sighted as his telescopes. He is a patron of the UK Independence Party which calls on Britain to leave the European Union.
