Another BMJ medical milestone
The discovery of DNA is one of the British Medical Journal’s fifteen medical milestones. We describe the search for DNA, the mapping of the genome, and DNA "fingerprinting" in the Ingenious Timeline. Ruth Franklin, who contributed so much to the breakthrough discovery, but died before she could share in the Nobel Prize awarded to Watson, Crick, and Wilkins, is part of the story.
