Increasing brain performance
We posted below on research that the brain can change. For those thinking about some aerobic exercise this weekend, here is scientific validation of something most Brits, ancient Greeks (and others) once intuitively knew:
It has recently been discovered that aerobic exercise will increase the production of new neurons in older brains. Studies show that aerobic exercise increases the amount of brain volume and that increased brain volume is linked with improvements to thinking, remembering, and cognitive flexibility.
Researchers confirmed these brain size increases using the MRI (magnetic resonance imaging co-developed by British scientist Peter Mansfield).
