Farm expertise in Zimbabwe
In a thought related to one on farming posted below, I note that the farmers recently and brutally kicked out of Zimbabwe were the descendants of British colonials, and also expert cultivators. Whatever anyone might feel about their claims to their land, they were good farmers with a wealth of knowledge, which is what farming requires. They had acquired the farming expertise for efficiently growing large amounts of food for large numbers of people. The capital they acquired they invested back in their farms. Because they had expertise, much of it developed by Brits, the people of Zimbabwe had plenty of food to eat. Now that the farmers with that expertise are gone, the people of Zimbabwe are starving.
