The Times reported that "Paul Greengrass, director of the September 11 drama United 93, said of his Best Director nomination: 'It’s a thrilling moment, of course. It’s been a fantastic year for British film. British film has taken a bit of a battering, but it’s a rich, rich period at the moment. We’re all reaping the rewards.'"
