Ancient Roman coin found

The Times reports that a treasure hunter has unearthed what is thought to be one of the earliest Roman coins in Britain.

The silver denarius dates from 146 BC and probably came to the country before the Roman conquest in AD 43. The British Museum believes it is almost certainly evidence of Roman contact between Cornwall and the Continent before the arrival of Roman legions.

This supports the idea that Joseph of Arimathea may have sailed to Cornwall and traded for tin. A previous post explores the idea that Jesus was with him.
