Speaking out for those whose voices are lost under gunfire
Reading yesterday that the Chinese government buys oil from the Sudan, and in turn supply the Sudanese government with the money, bombs, and helicopters used to devastate the people of Darfur, I was reminded again of Baroness Cox, who has made so many trips to Darfur. You can read about her here.
There is a movement afoot to pressure the Chinese to stop supplying the Sudan government with weapons. It is suggested they would hardly like the 2008 Olympics to be called the "Genocide Olympics".
Many of us are concerned that efforts to stop the genocide may be too late and too slow.
