Looking weak has awful consequences
Two of the fifteen British sailors ambushed by the Iranians have spoken and written letters. The others have remained silent, and are undoubtedly being treated very badly. We do not know how we would act under these hardships, and we pray that they will be able to stand up to the torment that they are undoubtedly bravely undergoing.
Once again we see the terrible results of thoughtless and weak government policies in which £ billions are wasted at home and a great military is discarded and humiliated. The Iranians saw how weak Britain looked, and dared to take advantage of it. If Britain had looked strong and acted purposefully, they would never have dared. This was a lesson Britain used to understand.
