British media growing force in American news
David alluded to this fact in an earlier post. Here is Tim Montgomerie in britainandamerica,
"In this morning's Guardian - arguably Britain's most influential newspaper because of its penetration of what Australians call The Opinionators - there is an important article exploring the growing US readership of London-sourced news.
Given their bias and the lack of diversity in their opinions, this does not strike me as good news. But it does underscore British professionalism. The most influential broadcaster is the BBC, which has the largest news audience in the world, employs 26,000 staff in the United Kingdom alone, and has a budget of more than GB£4 billion (US$7.9 billion) largely underwritten by British citizens.
