Tul Bahadur Pun VC won the Victoria Cross fighting for Britain in the 3rd Battalion 6th Gurkha Rifles during World War II. He is one of only twelve living recipients of Britain's highest award for valour. Recently, the British Government refused 84 year-old Mr Pun's application to settle in the UK, to seek urgently needed medical treatment, on the grounds that Mr Pun VC "failed to demonstrate strong ties with the UK".

Due to public outrage, this cruel and unjust decision has just been reversed and Tul Bahadur Pun VC will be coming to the UK for medical treatment.
