Throwing stone roses at the Q Awards

According to the Mail, there was deprecation at the Q Awards. Alas, it was not the famous British self-deprecation –

“I don't think she's cute. I don't think she's good-looking. Her music's rubbish - she makes music for little kids.”

This was followed by -

"I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm putting her down. . ."

No, no, we didn’t think that.

Given the speaker, this might be called throwing stone roses.

Kate Nash was voted the breakthrough artist at the Q Awards. Sir Paul McCartney received the Idol award. Amy Winehouse, who did not appear, won for best album. The details are here.
