Scufflings - Thomas Rainborowe
‘If writing be true there hath been many scufflings between the honest men of England and those that have tyranniz'd over them’, said Thomas Rainborowe. At the time (1647) he was fighting for the right of all men to vote (DNB, Clarke Papers, 1.246).
We salute him (he is sometimes referred to as Mr Rainsborough). He was very brave.
We doubt he would be surprised by the current state of affairs. Quite naturally he would be doing something about it.
