Remembering

Silence - recalling with love those who served. Most of us personally know someone who served or is serving today.

As you are aware, Remembrance Day rose out of Armistice Day and the end of World War One on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Today we remember all those who have defended and are defending freedom. We hope, as they hoped, that a time will come when 'nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.'

We are not able to do justice to their courage and sacrifice.

Their cause is described in the Liberty Timeline -
1900 - 1938
1939-1945
1946-1999
2000-2007.

The images are, in order, RAF fighters in France, from Celia Dibblee Packe, whose father Edward Packe, on the right, served in both world wars; his grandfather, by Jon Plank; Iraq by Cpl Ian Forsyth RLC.

May your week be good.
