Lady Julian of Norwich, one of the first women to publish a book in English (in the 14th century) wrote, "Our dearworthy Lord did not say, 'You will never face trouble, you will never feel sorrow, you will never be afflicted. He said, ‘You will not be overcome'".

As 90 mph hour winds hit Britain, accompanied by flooding, and as the news about British freedom continues to be grim, we would like to affirm, "You will not overcome".
