Odious

Simon Hoggart's disgust with Sarkozy's rich crème Chantilly, poured out in the House of Lords, becomes understandable when we learn that Prime Minister Gordon Brown's response appears to be to accept M. Sarkozy's idea that the undemocratic European Union ought to have a military force. How the unaccountable EU will use that force should be cause for alarm.

Sarkozy also thanked Brown for denying the British people a referendum on the EU constitution.

Odious.

We note that the House of Lords is about to take a hard look at the Lisbon Treaty that is the EU constitution in all but name.
