Immigration and government policies
Sir Andrew Green writes that the "report on immigration from the House of Lords Economic Committee strikes a devastating blow against years of blatant government propaganda. It rejects outright the Government's argument that a high level of immigration is of economic benefit to the UK".
There are, of course, many wonderful individual immigrants who have contributed a great deal to life in the United Kingdom - no doubt we all think immediately of Prince Philip - but the report focuses on the high levels of immigration which are overwhelming services and schools, transport and environment and are hurting the ability of British working people to support their families.
Simon Heffer explains the malignant reasons why the government supports these hurtful policies.
Both Green and Heffer have done us a service by writing.
