Libera to appear on BBC1's Songs of Praise

Steven Philipp writes -

For something uplifting and encouraging, thought you might want to share this or pass it on. Libera will be featured on the BBC1’s Songs of Praise this Sunday afternoon at 16:55.

This is only the second time that Songs Of Praise has devoted an entire special programme to one musical group. We last wrote about the boy band from a South London parish and their musical director Robert Prizeman when they were asked to sing for the Pope. Below Libera performs Orinoco Flow on the BBC last year -

The boys in Libera work hard with great spirit. Below they sing Far Away -

We're very glad to hear about the latest Libera adventure.

Phil:

Thank you Steven.

I assume you are Ben's (very proud) father, and what a handsome young man he is.
I saw SoP and despite being a fan of the boys for about 2 years now I am still at a loss to understand just quite how they do what they do and I remain in awe of them all, young and old.
I have been lucky enough to see Libera in concert a few times and the sights and sounds will live with me for ever. The music is as fresh to me today as it was when I first saw the boys on WWIBF on BBC1.
We know how hard the boys work for their success and they are fortunate indeed that RP provides an outlet for their talent and energy which might otherwise be lost or wasted. We now see former choristers writing music, at the mixing desk and training the new boys and long may it continue.
