11th century medieval builder

I wonder about the unknown 11th century artist who drew this sketch. Was it a monk or a cathedral sculptor? His lines are so fluid and easy and timeless.

Perhaps you also enjoy a great Brit from the 19th century, Augustus Pugin. Architect of Westminster Palace, he rejected much of latter day architecture (cf. Contrasts) and led the way for Ruskin, Morris, and others in the Arts and Crafts movement. A stout fellow. Cheers
