Music from three soldiers

The Soldiers, who are to perform at the Festival of Remembrance at Albert Hall on Saturday, have struck an emotional chord. . .

This week, their debut album, Coming Home, has jumped straight into the chart at number four. Earnings from the disc are earmarked for the Army Benevolent Fund, Help For Heroes and the Royal British Legion.

. . .'The album," says third Soldier, Sgt Richie Maddocks, 'represents what we represent – friendship, camaraderie, trust, loyalty, all that kind of gear'.

Sgt Major Gary Chilton is 41. Maddocks is 37. L/Cpl Ryan Idzi is 24, and barely escaped death from a roadside bomb two years ago in Iraq.
