Helen Skelton, the 26-year-old Blue Peter presenter, reached the tidal mouth of the Amazon six weeks and one million strokes after she set out alone in a kayak from Nauta, Peru. She braved crocodiles, insects, heatstroke, exhaustion and blisters. Amazing. She set a number of world records, including one for the longest documented solo journey in a kayak.

She gave thanks to the people who had inspired her. She is looking forward to walking her dog.
