"The Government abandoned its controversial plans to privatise England's public forests in the face of " WIDESPREAD PUBLIC RAGE. Hooray.

We believe the forests are common lands, to be held for the people in perpetuity. They were first protected under the Charter of the Forest of 1217. We called the government's plans a declaration of war, and we are thrilled with the public's victory, the first, we hope, of many fine and necessary victories.
