The Proms 2011

The schedule for the BBC Proms is here.

Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance march, a favourite at the proms, has gone round the world. (It opened a new medical school in Oregon a few days ago - the first class marched down the aisle in front of 1500 people as the march was played). P&C is here. (We just couldn't resist.)

A Singaporean watching the performance on youtube wrote:

Singapore was discovered by a British by the name of Sir Stamford Raffles. We are who we are today because of the British Empire. Watching the Last Night of the Proms is so amazing. How I wish Singapore has such traditions. Well I can only hope one day I myself will be able to attend at least once in my lifetime.

Hey, we'd like to attend the Proms, too.
