Bradley Wiggins's glorious doddle

Bradley Wiggins turned in a sensational ride, covering the 44 km, 27.3 mile course in 50 mins, 39.54 seconds, to take gold.

He has now won seven Olympic medals in total, including four gold, a British record.

The cheering, flag-waving roadside crowds were 300,000-strong.
