Rupert Bear at 87
I picked up a Daily Express this morning and was amazed to see that Rupert Bear was still going strong. Where have I been?
When I was a child, Christmas was not Christmas without a Rupert Annual illustrated by Alfred Bestall, and I think that was true for most British children.
Rupert Bear must be one of the longest-running comic strips in the world, and certainly the only one speaking in perfect rhyme.
Rupert appearing daily for all these years,
I lift my glass and wish him cheers!
