Music I heard
I heard music yesterday that was like the touch of a hand on my arm, a bird singing when I was falling in love, a tree blossoming. . . It was Charles Wesley's setting of a psalm. It was very simple, like a kiss that made you want a second kiss.
I had just written a bit about Wesley in Abolishing Slavery. Hearing his music gave me a curious sensation, as if that quick hand on my arm was his.
