Robert Lyminge, the architect of Hatfield House, is credited with the design of Blickling Hall, which was built in the 17th century on the ruins of the old Boleyn property.
The National Trust has over 300 properties – gardens, cottages, castles, and lovely country acres. Membership entitles one to free entry to all these properties. Americans who are travelling to the UK will be interested to know that if they join the Royal Oak Foundation (which costs as little as $55 for an individual, $80 for two people, and $90 for a family), they receive free admission for one year to all National Trust properties in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
