Interested in freedom thenOn 11 December 1931, Parliament enacted the Statute of Westminster, giving legislative independence to the Irish Free State, Newfoundland (not then part of Canada), Canada, and New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. The British Parliament was interested in freedom then.
