British men who loved and honoured their wives

When I look at the most important male players in Britain's history of freedom (including two British subjects who established the United States and the US Constitution), I am struck by the biographical fact that each of them loved and honoured his wife.
Not everyone can be so lucky.
Is it significant that they loved and honoured their wives?
Probably.
