We have supported Michael Yon with contributions because for a long time he was almost the only person who was reporting on the war in Iraq by actually going with the troops, and sharing their dangers. During that time he reported on British troops -'The worse it got, the better they got'.
Now he is in Afghanistan, considered by Presidential candidate Barack Obama to be one country where the war against Islamic terrorism ought to be fought. Michael Yon filed a full report on a dangerous and secret mission conducted by British, Canadian, Australian and American troops.
The "Eagles Summit" mission was to deliver a new turbine to the Kajaki Dam to get electricity flowing. It was challenging enough to be privately given the name "Operation Suicide". Michael Yon's story is here.
