Brits of the Iron Age

We can see by their ornaments and weapons that Brits of the Iron Age, who were living in the last centuries BC, loved beauty. They loved something else we love, too.
Their Iron Age forts suggest a time of battles. Clearly they felt they had to defend themselves.
We can guess that though life was tough there were times when they laughed and loved, and were hospitable and brave. References in later medieval manuscripts suggest that they were keen about laws. Queen Marcia is said to have published the ancient Molmutine Laws around 200 BC.
Best of all, as far as we're concerned, we know that the Iron Age Brits who met and resisted the Romans two thousand years ago loved and defended their freedom.
