Crossing the finish line of the Vendee Globe, Dee Caffari became the first woman to sail solo, non-stop, both ways round the world.The 36 year-old, who completed an east to west circumnavigation in 178 days in 2005, completed her double record at 1.12pm local time in Les Sables d’Olonne having been at sea for a little over 99 days on her boat Aviva.
