Courageous Terry Pratchett
If I were diagnosed with Alzheimer's, I think I would want to hide.
Diagnosed in 2007 at age 59, writer Terry Pratchett's reaction was to speak out. He said,
If we are to kill the demon, first we must say its name.
Partly as a result, there has recently been "a crescendo in the discussion of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia". There is likely to be increased funding for research.
Today Sir Terry Pratchett received a knighthood from The Queen.
