After politics, magnolias
After hearing about politics and economics, thinking about plants is a comfort to me.
It has been so cold and snowy this year in Portland, Oregon (it snowed yesterday), that the magnolias are weeks away from blooming. Still, I've seen their buds, and I like thinking about the explorers who brought them to Britain. My favourite is the result of a British-French collaboration.
