"If you can meet with triumph and disaster and treat those two impostors just the same"
I posted this Federer/Nadal reading of Kipling's If on the first day of the new year. Since then Nadal has been forced to bow out due to injury, and Federer has made a comeback. Reviewing his wikipedia file, I was amazed by Federer's many failures - he has not won every game by a long shot - and by the determination and focus required for his sixth Wimbledon win and his 15th Grand Slam. Here he is, reading If, a poem that clearly inspires him. Perhaps he will teach it to his first child, soon to be born -

And a little credit for Andy Roddick who has failed far more than he has succeeded, but made two players who were supposed to finish him easily struggle mightily for five sets.
