Waiting for candlelight
After seeing an earlier post - Out of disappointment, a gift - a reader wrote to ask how he could obtain an invite to Sir John Soane's Museum. It isn't difficult. The Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 10-5pm, and admission is free. A guided tour costs £5.

There is a special candlelit opening on the first Tuesday evening of each month, 6-9pm. Last entry is 8:30pm. Visitor numbers are generally high on these evenings and there is frequently a queue to enter the Museum. Tickets cannot be booked in advance.
