Why juries work best
Paul Mendelle QC, chairman of the Criminal Bar Association, has a terrific piece in the Guardian. He says that 12-person juries are far better than a single judge in deciding a case. He cites research into half a million cases in England and Wales, which has found juries to be fair, efficient and effective - when the evidence they see is accurate and complete.
