In an unprecedented defence of Britain's sovereignty and freedom, the Lord Chief Justice, Lord Judge, said that the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg is threatening to 'assume an unspoken priority over the United Kingdom's Common Law'.
Are the judges finally awakening to the iniquities of the EU's Corpus Juris?
Human rights sounds a wonderful thing, but not at the expense of Common Law, which established rights and freedoms such as trial by jury, presumption of innocence, habeas corpus and an independent judiciary centuries ago.
It's high time this defence is made.
Do we want career judges in foreign lands holding them for months or years and judging them without benefit of jury?
