Reflections on match play in golf

Reading the news, I sometimes wonder how I can think of anything but lost jobs, children deprived of food and freedom, interfering governments whose unpredictable rules and regulations reduce job creation and make everyone poorer . . But human beings transcend all the bad news being thrown at them these days, and some of them continue, bless them, to be interested in other things besides disaster. In that spirit I offer Match play as the oldest, most natural and most dramatic golf - even today, when it is not being played in a top hat!
