Get your hands off our trees

The story
begins with trees. . .
birch, elm, ash, pine, apple, hawthorne, box. . .
rowan, yew, lime, hazel, hawthorne, hornbeam, whitebeam. . .
beech trees and oak trees. . .
The island of Britain was once shadowy with trees.
Trees were cut down to build ships, houses, farms, theatre stages, but Brits remained passionate and protective about trees.
They did not appreciate the government's recent plans to sell off England's forests, which the people rightly feel belong to them. A popular revolt is growing.
