When I was a child, all the children I knew were up in the trees. It was lovely. Here is a review of Diarmuid Gavin's Irish Sky Garden. As we leave Chelsea we will remember Irish imagination uniquely united with a British love of trees.
John Evelyn's classic Sylva, A Discourse of Forest Trees, has been in print since 1664. It's thought a million trees were planted in Britain as a result of his book.
