Anselm's Day
One of the greatest archbishops of Canterbury, Anselm ended slavery in Britain in 1102. At the beginning of the 12th century, he denounced, outlawed, and eliminated the selling of men and women in Britain. We believe this is part of Britain's Constitution, the principles we live by - "Britons never will be slaves".
