Some 76 years since a British man had won a title at Wimbledon, and 100 since any member of Team GB had won a singles gold in tennis at the Olympics, Andrew Murray became a champion, sinking to his feet as the rest of the country rose on theirs to salute him.At times it has felt as if we have waited an eternity for this, and yet he made it look so easy: three straight sets, 6-2, 6-1, 6-4 against Roger Federer.
The crowd moved from shock and disbelief to joy. Bravo.

It even brought tears to Bob's eyes as well as mine when Andy served that beautiful ace to gain the gold medal! Very Well Done Andy Murray...you finally beat the formidable Mr.Federer on the sacred turf at SW19!!
Lets only hope he decides to play for Team GB in Rio in 2016 and not Scotland!!
