World University Rankings place MIT as number 1, Cambridge as number 2, Harvard as number 3, University College London as number 4, Oxford as number 5, and Imperial College London as number 6. So among the top 6, four universities are in Britain. And among those top 6, two universities are in London, more than in any other city in the world. Not bad.
All of the top 12 universities were in Britain or America.
