Right to silence defended
It is not only the Irish (see post below) who are seeking to defend elements of the British Constitution that they inherited. We just learned that a motorist in Hong Kong asserted his right to silence (when the police demanded to know who was driving his car). In court, a judge vacated the law that demanded he confess, as it is in conflict with the right to silence, a right gloriously won by John Lilburne.
