All that is gold
From JRR Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring -
All that is gold does not glitter,Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,A light from the shadows shall spring. . .

I've often thought of these lines that were written for the Dúnadan - the man of the West - Aragorn, in terms of the West generally.
Whereas BATB seems to use them exclusively for England - or so it seems from your postings - I would argue they represent more fully Christendom; both as Tolkien viewed his splendorous Númenór and, being Catholic himself, our historical sources of Christian civilization.

Oh!
I never meant them exclusively for England or Britain or the West.
At the time I posted them, they spoke personally to me. . .and I hoped spoke to those wondering, what next?
And surely, as you say, they speak to followers of Christ. . .
