Celebrity gardens
Each garden has been planted by a celebrity passionate about gardening, and each garden is ephemeral - like celebrity. If the past is any guide, it will last a few decades before vanishing.
Curious the number of celebrities who want to live in the country, or make a green retreat in London. Julian Clary lives in Noel Coward's old house in Kent, where the theme of transience was very strong. He found the garden abandoned to weeds and the house falling down. Once an urbanite, Clary is now the happy owner of chickens, and says, "If you're going for the rustic thing, then you want chickens and ducks and delphiniums".
